Refund Policy

At ORIGIN, we are committed to providing you with professional, high-quality genealogical services and experiences. We understand that circumstances change, and we want to be transparent about our refund policy across all of our services. Please read the following carefully before completing your booking or purchase.

Workshops & Events

​

All workshop and event registration fees are non-refundable. By completing your registration and submitting payment, you acknowledge and agree that no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including but not limited to personal scheduling conflicts, non-attendance, or cancellation by the participant.

 

We invest significantly in preparation, venue, and materials for every workshop we offer, and as such, all sales are considered final at the time of registration.

One-Hour Consultations

 

We offer a full refund on consultation fees provided that your cancellation request is submitted within 24 hours of your original booking. This allows us to make your appointment slot available to other clients in a timely manner.

Please note the following:

• Cancellations requested after the 24-hour booking window are not eligible for a refund.

• Cancellations requested after your consultation has taken place are not eligible for a refund under any circumstances.

• If you need to reschedule your consultation, please contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you, subject to availability.

Research Services

​

Due to the time, expertise, and resources invested in genealogical research, the following terms apply:

​

• A non-refundable deposit is required to secure and commence your research project. The deposit amount will be confirmed in writing at the time of engagement.

• A full refund of any payments made beyond the initial deposit will be issued if a cancellation request is submitted before research work has commenced.

• Once research has begun, no refunds will be issued, regardless of the stage of completion or the nature of the findings.

• The remaining balance is due upon delivery of your completed research report or upon reaching an agreed project milestone.

If you wish to cancel your research project before work begins, you must notify ORIGIN in writing through KnowYourOrigin.com. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted.

General Refund Terms

​

• All refund requests must be submitted in writing via KnowYourOrigin.com.

• Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of confirmation and returned to the original payment method.

• ORIGIN reserves the right to make final determinations regarding refund eligibility in all cases.

• In the event that ORIGIN cancels a scheduled workshop or service, all affected clients will receive a full refund within 10 business days.

• ORIGIN is not liable for any additional costs incurred by the client as a result of such cancellation, including but not limited to travel or accommodation expenses.
